Group Therapy for Teens
Venturing Back to School: Group Therapy for Teens
Thursdays September 19th- November 21st, 2019 6pm- 7:30pm
Held at Taborspace in the Conference Room
The changing of the seasons from summer to autumn can leave some teens feeling anxious or nervous about returning to school. These transitions can bring up uncomfortable feelings around social stressors, academic challenges, or problems in the previous year. Autumn can also offer the chance to slow down, examine the patterns and situations that no longer serve us, and take proactive steps to begin the school year with a refreshed sense of self.
As the weather cools off and the leaves begin to change, join Rooted Adventure Therapy for a 10-week group therapy experience focused on the changing of the seasons and entering this new time with increased clarity, confidence, and self-awareness. Topics we will explore include anxiety, depression, and relationships.
The group will meet once a week for 90 minutes at Taborspace in SE Portland. During week 5 the group will gather on Saturday for an all day hike and adventure therapy session. We will soak in the incredible Pacific Northwest autumn foliage, and utilize the healing powers of wilderness to explore topics in an expansive way that only nature can facilitate.
Adventure Therapy Session. Rooted Adventure Therapy finds that some of the best conversations, breakthroughs, and healing can happen when we get our bodies moving in the great outdoors!
